What Belongs on a Marriage Bio-Data
A bio-data is a one-page introduction for families: name, date of birth, education, work, and family. What to include, what to leave off, and why the PDF is the copy that matters.
A marriage bio-data is a short, structured introduction: who the person is, their family, education, work, and the details both families expect to see in one place. It is not a résumé and it is not a social profile. The reader should find each fact under a heading they already know.
Fill the sections, then export
The marriage bio-data generator lays out those sections and can include a photo. Enter the details you want to share, choose the template and language that match the family you are sending it to, and download a PDF or an image. Check spellings of names and dates on the downloaded file before you forward it.
Share only what you are comfortable sending. A date of birth on the page can also be checked with the age calculator if a form asks for age in years and months as well as the date.
A worked example
Fill the name, date of birth, education, work, and family sections in the marriage bio-data generator, add a recent photo, and download the PDF. Read the PDF, not the form: wrapping can split a long name or push a date onto the next line. If a family asked for age as well as the date of birth, calculate the completed years with the exact-age article and type that number yourself so it matches the date on the page.
What to leave off
Account passwords, full document numbers, and anything you would not want forwarded. A proposal message is a different page. Write that in HeartTrace and keep the bio-data as the factual sheet.
It is an introduction, not a profile
Families read a bio-data for a fixed set of facts: who the person is, the date of birth, education, work, and the family. Decoration does not help a reader who is looking for the date. A long paragraph where a labeled line would do makes the page harder, not warmer. The sections exist so two families can find the same fact in the same place.
The downloaded PDF or image is the copy that will be forwarded. The form on the screen can look fine while a long name wraps badly in the file. Read the file. Check the spelling of names and the digits of dates there. If the page states an age as well as a date of birth, the age has to be the completed age from that date, or the two facts contradict each other.
Share what you would forward
A bio-data travels. Leave off document numbers, passwords, and anything you would not want in a chat you do not control. A personal proposal is a different piece of writing, for one person, and it does not belong in the factual sheet. The sheet can be formal. The note can be private. They answer different readers.
